Doc Peterson As a young boy Doc played Ukulele on the streets of Frederiksted entertaining residents and tourists alike! .Using these early experiences as a springboard, Doc began singing with several local calypso bands at the age of 14, and his music has taken him to such exotic places as New Delhi, India, Belgium, England, Holland and the U.S. Mainland, and Denmark. He serves as the Musical Ambassador to the Island Center on St. Croix, and can be found playing on the last Saturday of each month at the Beach Side Café at Sandcastle on the Beach Hotel in Frederiksted.
Eddie Russell Eddie Russell began playing trumpet professionally at age 15, forming his first group, Eddie & The Playboys, in 1964. Eddie Russell has played with and studied under music legends such as Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Garrison, James Moody, The Mighty Sparrow, and Sam & Dave. He can be heard on Mr. Bow Tie CD of jazz bass master Ron Carter. Eddie also is a prolific composer and a music educator.
Venus Dodson Soulful jazz, straight from the heart, and that's where it hits you when you hear her.
Jazzy Blue Jazzy Blue, the One Man Band, plays keyboard and sings in a soulful, passionate and powerful baritone voice. Among Jazzy's recordings are That Ain't All I Wanna Say and Cowboy Blue. Jazzy's repertoire also includes a little bit of Soul, R & B, Classic Rock, Pop, and Caribbean flavors.
Mitch Hennes Mitch Hennes is an accomplished acoustic and electric bassist. He has performed with such diverse artists as jazz saxophonists Hank Crawford and Richie Cole, and legendary musician-comedian Victor Borge.
Sally Smith
A 35 year veteran musician, Sally has played in a variety of settings as a solo pianist/vocalist and as part various musical ensembles, both as leader and as a sideman. 15 years playing in the Catskill Mt. Resort area of New York, the so-called Borscht Belt, provided a chance for her to lead the Show Band for the world-famous Grossingers Resort. Living on St. Thomas since 1995, Sally created the group Sally Smith & Co. She has performed at many of the jazz venues in the Virgin Islands including the Jazz in Moonlight Concert Series. In 2004, Sally opened for jazz great, Gato Barbieri at the Island Center on St. Croix. Steve Simon
Lucie Blue Tremblay Tremblay serenades us with a rich, warm voice that can soar from a throaty purr to strong, crystal tones, her songs combining a soft melodic essence with a depth of feeling that is riveting, particularly in her love songs. Her self-titled debut album was voted Top Ten Album of the Year by the Boston Globe in 1986, and in subsequent albums she has continued to turn personal experience into compelling songs. Her performing credits include appearances at New York's Carnegie Hall and the Canadian Pavilion at the 1992 World's Fair in Seville, Spain. She most recently was heard with James Taylor and Randy Newman on NPR's weekly broadcast "E-Town."
